Colorado's Stanley Hotel, inspiration for Stephen King's novel The Shining, runs Kubrick's R-rated theatrical version of The Shining followed by the TV miniseries The Shining in a continuous loop on Channel 60 of the hotel's TV service.

There's also something called The Shining Ball, scheduled for October 27th, starting at 6:00 pm "until the knife stroke of MIDNIGHT" - spo0ky!

People who have seen the lobby of my apt building are reminded of this movie as well. More than once I've been told that they half expect to see Jack Nicholson chasing Shelly Duvall around . ;-)
